Chalhoub Retail Academy Manager

Chalhoub Group Retail Academy sees thousands of learners walk through its doors every year, providing training and development in all the key areas of leading a successful career in Retail. 

Behind the scenes, works a very close team of professionals ensuring that the Academy provides exactly the right courses and delivery styles, including many on-line learning solutions alongside the Academy based courses. 

We are seeking someone very talented, very digital and a great Manager to come and lead the Retail Academy and those who work within it across all our locations.

You will be working on designing and delivering cutting edge development solutions, working closely with our leadership and our learners to ensure that the training is relevant and impactful.  You will be responsible for the resource management and communications of the Academy.

Your work will have a direct Impact on the success of our people through innovative and effective learning solutions.

What you’ll do

 

  • Work on the strategy and develop the business plan of the Chalhoub Retail Academy
  • Formulate and communicate CRA successes and people stories
  • Lead the team of talented individuals across the Academies including Trainers, Quality Assurers and Admin supporters.
  • Develop the CRA policies and procedures
  • Oversee the day to day running of the operations of the Academy and its branches across the markets, provide expertise and encourage teamwork
  • Be responsible for the annual budget
  • Operational elements include:
  • Manage, monitor and coach the Retail Academy team to maintain the international accreditation with our partner awarding body
  • Ensure standards are aligned with the awarding body requirements
  • Monitor & review current training materials and propose and design updates and new materials as needed
  • Oversee the organization of training and development events
  • Ensure the implementation of effective methods to educate and enhance performance
  • Evaluate facilitation, performance and effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendation for improvement
  • Build strategic rapport between Chalhoub teams, regional teams and the group affiliates
  • Be responsible for building digital talent within the CRA team

 

What you need to succeed in this role

 

We see success in the role as having a strong knowledge of the Training and Development space, with an in-depth understanding of what is required in the evolving retail landscape in order to drive our people’s development and our stores success.

More specifically, we would love to hear from you if you can say yes to the below.... 

  • Previous experience of running a similar set-up, a training academy, learning centre or in-house function
  • Have high emotional intelligence and ability to understand cultural nuances.
  • Great management experience and ability to lead a large team
  • Excellent at collaborating
  • Have a Masters in HR, Business, Psychology or related field.
  • We would prefer to have Arabic speakers for this role due to the Regional Travel requirements
